Works by Gomidas, J.S. Bach, Schubert and Bartók

Although she has sung in the world's major opera houses and won Placido Domingo's Operalia Competition in 2000, this Armenian-Canadian soprano may be best known to the world at large as a friend of the Hobbit - as featured vocalist on the soundtrack of the blockbuster film The Lord of the Rings. Although known to Bay Area audiences for her creation of the role of Stephanie in Jake Heggie's To Hell and Back, critics agree she shines exceptionally brightly in music of her Armenian heritage. She joins the award-winning Armenian Orchestra, comprised of the top chamber musicians of the Armenian Philharmonic, in a program showcasing the works of composer Gomidas Vartabed, regarded as the Bach and Bartók of Armenian music.
