Four community nonprofits. One classic and timely American musical. The San Francisco Arts Education Project (SFArtsED), San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Company (SF BATCO), the Young People’s Teen Musical Theatre Company (YPTMTC, a program of San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department) and the UC Berkeley Summer Symphony present a one-night only performance of West Side Story benefitting arts education programs for San Francisco youth. The show is at 7pm on Saturday, July 27 at the Palace of Fine Arts.

The multigenerational cast of 70 includes performers, ages 9-14, from SFArtsED’s Broadway Bound summer camp along with young adults from YPTMTC and SF BATCO, who range in age from 15 to 33 and serve as mentors and co-stars to the younger performers. The celebrated score by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim will performed by the 40-piece UC Berkeley Summer Symphony.
