Recording Star
The most successful and beloved female recording artist to hail from England, Petula Clark became America's number one female vocalist during the musical British Invasion of the 1960s. Along with the Beatles, Petula conquered the international world of pop music, topping the U.S. charts with the unforgettable million-seller Downtown (earning her the first of two Grammys). A long string of classics followed: This Is My Song, I Know A Place, My Love, I Couldn't Live Without Your Love, Don't Sleep In The Subway, Color My World, A Sign Of The Times, Kiss Me Goodbye and many more.

British Child Star To Worldwide Star
Embracing every aspect of show business, Petula's worldwide career has virtually defined the term "international superstar." Starting as a child performer in her native England, she sang to the Allied forces during World War II (becomeing the "Singing Sweetheart" for American soldiers abroad), hosted her own BBC radio show, was placed under a film contract by the renown Rank Organization, and had numerous hit records - all before her massive breakthrough in the United States. With worldwide sales of over 60 million recordings, Petula has also had hit songs in Germany, Holland, Italy, Australia, Hong Kong, Denmark, and South Africa. In addition, her hundreds of recordings sung in French have made Petula a celebrated favorite in France, Belgium, and Canada. In recognition of her accomplishments in France, she has been awarded the coveted Grand Prix National Du Disque Francais, as the country's most successful recording artist, in addition to the Bravos Du Music Hall, Golden Rose and The Grand Medal of The Council of Paris. In her homeland, Petula was awarded the CBE honor from Queen Elizabeth in 1998.

Television Star
Petula became a household name in the U.S. by performing on dozens of top television programs: "The Ed Sullivan Show," "The Dean Martin Show," "The Andy Williams Show," "The Carol Burnett Show," "American Bandstand," "The Tonight Show," "The Flip Wilson Show," "The Hollywood Palace," "Here's Lucy," Bob Hope and Perry Como specials, "Night of 100 Stars," "The Golden Globes," "The Academy Awards" and many more. Petula's career has been profiled on entire segments of "The David Frost Show," "Portrait Of A Legend," "This Is Your Life," "Bravo Profiles/The South Bank Show" and the recent PBS documentary "Petula Clark: This Is My Song," first airing in December, 2001. Petula has also starred in numerous television spectaculars of her own, including a legendary 1968 program which made broadcast history when the sponsor threatened to withdraw after Petula touched Harry Belafonte during a duet. Her other American specials include "Portrait Of Petula," "Rodgers & Hart Today," "Petula," "Kraft Music Hall Presents Petula Clark," "Opryland USA," "Live In London," "Carnival In Rio" and "Petula In Concert." In England, she has starred in several BBC series ("This Is Petula Clark" and "The Sound Of Petula") and specials ("Just Pet," "Live At The Royal Albert Hall" - the latter which launched color broadcasting for the BBC), winning her the prestigious British Academy of Film & Television and TV Times Favorite Singer awards.
