Pacific Edge Voices

Named a "venerable chorus" by the San Francisco Chronicle's Joshua Kosman, Pacific Edge Voices is a premier Grammy-nominated vocal ensemble. Building on 36 years of dynamic choral singing in the San Francisco Bay Area and around the world, PEV is best known for its uncommonly diverse repertoire of high quality choral music, as well as collaborations with high-profile and popular artists such as Dave Brubeck, Meredith Monk, and Bobby McFerrin.

Holiday Concert: The Promise of Living
December 7th (San Francisco) and 8th (Berkeley) 2017
For with my singing I can make / A refuge for my spirit's sake / A house of shining words, to be / My fragile immortality. As the days grow darker and the nights chill, we turn to family and friends to light our souls. These words from Sara Teasdale, in a beautiful setting by Rich Campbell, represent our gift to you in this holiday season. Anchoring our program, Aaron Copeland's The Promise of Living, from his opera The Tender Land, is joined by Morton Lauridsen's Five Midwinter Songs and Charles Ives' A Christmas Carol. Interweaving classic choral settings with contemporary musical reflections, we invite you to breathe deeply this holiday season and find a moment of refuge with us.

Let Me Hear Your Heart Sing
April 12th (San Francisco) and 15th (Berkeley) 2018
In our temperate climate, the crocus does not announce the dusk of winter’s passing. As we bustle through our days, spring can arrive unnoticed! Take a moment to sit with us and appreciate the change of season and renewal of spirit. With a program including Arvo Pärt's I Am the True Vine, Durufle's Four Motets, works by both Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn and our good friends Michael Roberts and Jennifer Higden, let music and community lift your face back toward the sun.

Annual A Cappella Jazz & Pop Concert
June 2nd (Berkeley), 8th (San Francisco), and 10th (Berkeley) 2018
In June we continue our longstanding tradition of presenting original a cappella arrangements of the best jazz and pop tunes from all eras. Small and large ensembles bring their special interpretations of songs both well known and obscure. This concert has sold out for the last three years. Get your tickets early!
