Kung Pao Kosher Comedy™ Presents... CHARO!

Kung Pao Kosher Comedy™ Presents is headed up by Bay Area comedian and comedy producer, Lisa Geduldig, who has been producing local comedy events since 1993. In addition to bringing Charo to San Francisco for the third time, Geduldig produces the annual Kung Pao Kosher Comedy™ (Jewish comedy on Christmas in a Chinese Restaurant), now in its 27th year, monthly shows at El Rio in San Francisco and Ashkenaz in Berkeley, and 2 shows a year at the Freight & Salvage in Berkeley.

Charo (born María Rosario Pilar Martínez Molina Baeza in Murcia, Spain) is much more than just cuchi cuchi. The music and pop culture icon is a singer, dancer, comedian, actress, AND an accomplished classical and flamenco guitarist. A guitar protégé at the age of 9, Charo studied with Andres Segovia, the father of modern classical guitar music and has twice been named the "Best Flamenco Guitarist in the World" by Guitar Player Magazine. Charo, who has appeared on numerous TV shows since the 1960’s, holds the record for the most Love Boat appearances (21), played Aunt Charo on Chico and the Man, appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show, Laugh-In, The Carol Burnett Show, The Sonny and Cher Show, and on talk shows including Johnny Carson and The Merv Griffin Show. She has been a regular on Hollywood Squares and the reality TV show, The Surreal Life. Charo has also acted in several films including Elvis: That’s The Way It Is. Tonight, Charo who last performed in San Francisco in 2008, will entertain the audience with both her solo flamenco guitar as well as being accompanied by a 4-piece back-up band.

A Meet & Greet with hors d’oeuvres and drinks will follow in the Performers’ Lounge. The Meet & Greet is limited to 60 people. Separate tickets ($25) are required. SOLD OUT!
