This is Star Dance Studio’s 73rd anniversary celebrating dance in San Francisco. The dancers in this performance are age 4-18 and have enjoyed the pleasures of hard work and accomplishment. About Star Dance Studio:
Star Dance Studio, a provider of top-quality dance education, was founded in 1950 by Ruth Jevarian, a professional ballerina and Armenian folk dancer. Her students performed around the city at special events, hospitals, and senior centers, sharing the joy of dance with their audiences. She retired in 1974 and turned the studio over to her daughter, Micky Powell, who continued the legacy. As enrollment increased, the dance studio moved to a larger facility. In 1996, the building at 300 Moraga Street, originally built as the Sutro Supermarket in 1933, became the permanent home of Star Dance Studio. Micky continues to run the school, along with a team of dedicated teachers who ensure it will continue to flourish. The school offers an array of dance classes for children and adults.
