Bay Area Film Events presents Godzillafest, a massive, family-friendly weekend convention running Friday, September 18 through Sunday, September 20 at the Holiday Inn Golden Gateway.
Meet legendary director Shusuke Kaneko, the visionary behind Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack and the acclaimed Heisei 1990s Gamera trilogy. Plus, don’t miss a rare appearance by actor Katsuhiko Sasaki, star of Godzilla vs. Megalon, Terror of Mechagodzilla, and Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1991).
And we’re also bringing two Godzillas to the party!
Suit actor Mizuho Yoshida, who portrayed Godzilla in Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack (2001), will be joining us as a special guest. Also appearing is TJ Storm, the motion-capture actor who brought Godzilla to life in Legendary Pictures’ Godzilla (2014) and Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019).
The weekend will be packed with two massive dealers’ rooms, Artists’ Alley, cosplay, and interactive gaming lounges featuring pinball, video games, and collectible card games. Plus, you can win awesome prizes and enjoy free monster movies Saturday night!

Our Godzillafest shirts always sell out fast! Most all sizes are usually gone by the end of the day Saturday.
This year we are trying to get ahead of the game and let attendees reserve their shirts early and pick them up at the show. Only fans attending Godzillafest with a paid for ticket or pass will be eligible to purchase a T-shirt. All shirts must be picked up at the Bay Area Film Events table at the show. We will not be mailing out shirts or offering pick up after the convention ends.
This year’s shirt is currently cooking in the lab, and is being designed with art by comic book artist Matt Frank! Here is a work in progress sketch for the shirt. We will update as we get progress images. Also, keep an eye on godzillafest.com for updates on the design as it is being worked on.
Shirts will be available for sale on site, but to guarantee you get one in the size you want, please take advantage of this pre-order opportunity.
