Soothing the Soul and Lifting the Spirit, conducted by Bainian Tan, is a musical journey designed to bring comfort, reflection, and renewed inspiration through the power of choral art. With his deep musical sensitivity and decades of experience as a vocalist, educator, and conductor, Maestro Tan shapes each work with expressive warmth and emotional clarity.
This program weaves together diverse musical traditions, blending classical masterworks, contemporary choral compositions, and beloved melodies that speak directly to the human heart. Through carefully chosen repertoire, the concert invites audiences to pause from the pace of daily life and enter a space of serenity, hope, and shared emotional connection. Gentle harmonies soothe the soul, while soaring musical moments uplift the spirit and remind listeners of resilience, beauty, and unity.
Under Maestro Tan’s artistic leadership, the chorus emphasizes refined vocal tone, expressive storytelling, and meaningful communication between performers and audience. Each piece becomes not only a musical performance but also a spiritual experience — one that celebrates compassion, inner peace, and the healing power of music.
Soothing the Soul and Lifting the Spirit ultimately affirms music’s timeless role as a bridge between cultures, generations, and hearts, leaving listeners renewed, inspired, and deeply moved.
